Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
23 HCU (~13 SRM)
Bitterness: 19 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.4% w/w)
Grain: 1 oz. British chocolate
4 oz. Flaked wheat
4 oz. British crystal 50-60L
5 oz. British pale
Steep: Steep 20 minutes @ 155-160°
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.101 3 gallons
3.3 lb. Light malt extract
3.3 lb. Amber malt extract
1 lb. Brown sugar
Use turbinado sugar if you cannot find 'true' brown sugar.
Add irish moss with 10 minutes left to boil.
Hops: 2 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 10 min.)
Yeast: London Ale Yeast #1028 (if no newcastle yeast strain is accessible)
Carbonation: 5/8 cup priming sugar
