Impersonator

Impersonator is a strong scotch ale that thinks its a double bock. Some day I'll get a refrigerator to Lager.

Beer: Impersonator Style: Strong Scotch Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 2.0 gallons
Color:
46 HCU (~21 SRM)
Bitterness: 23 IBU
OG: 1.069 FG: 1.017
Alcohol: 6.7% v/v (5.3% w/w)
Water: Filtered tap water through a carbon filter.
Grain: 4 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
4 oz. Belgian CaraVienne
2 oz. British chocolate
Steep: Heat 2 quarts of water to 162°F, steep grains in a muslin bag for 30 minutes. Filter tea through bag into brew kettle.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.092 1.5 gallons
3.5 lb. Light malt extract
Added 1/2 teaspon Irish Moss with 15 minutes to go in the boil.
Hops: 1.5 oz. Hallertauer Hersbrucker (3.0% AA, 45 min.)
0.5 oz. Hallertauer Hersbrucker (3.0% AA, 2 min.)
Yeast: 11 grams or Nottingham by Danstar, rehydrated per instructions on package
Log: Primary Fermentation 1 week at 63 °F in Glass. Secondary 11 days at 61 - 63 ° F in Glass.
Carbonation: Used 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons of cornsugar, dissolved in 8 ounces of filtered tap water.
Tasting: Decent beer as of first tasting 2weeks after bottling. Will only get better with age.
