Bitterness: | 12 IBU | |||||
| OG: | 1.046 | FG: | 1.010 | |||||
| Alcohol: | 4.7% v/v (3.7% w/w) | |||||||
| Water: | 1 tsp. water crystals | |||||||
| Grain: | 3 lb. German Pilsner 3 lb. Flaked wheat |
|||||||
| Mash: | 50% efficiency | |||||||
| Mash 3 lb 2-row German Pilsen and 3 lb flaked wheat at 125° for 30 minutes with 1.5 gal of water. Add 0.75 gal and mash at 150° for 45 min. Sparge with 2.5 gal water. Had a problem with a stuck run-off due to the flaked wheat. Forgot to add rice hulls. Eh, what can you do? | ||||||||
| Boil: | 65 minutes | SG 1.058 | 4 gallons | |||||
| 2 lb. Wheat extract 1 lb. 5 oz. Amber malt extract |
||||||||
| The extract was a 3.3 bag of 60-40 split malted wheat and barley. It was darker than expected, hence the amber extract in the recipe. Irish moss at 10 minutes left in boil. |
||||||||
| Hops: | 1 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 60 min.) .5 oz. Tettnanger (aroma) |
|||||||
| Yeast: | Wyeast 3068 Weihenstephan. | |||||||
| Log: | Ended up with 5 gal in fermenter at OG of 1.044-1.046. | |||||||
