| I have a HERMS type recirculating mash system which produced an efficiency well over 80% in this case, since my actual collection was about 10.5 gallons. In addition to the recirculating system, I did 2- 4gallon batch sparges to rinse the grain. On a side note, the recirculating mash, batch sparging, and counterflow wort chilling allowed me to do the entire brew in 3 1/2 hours (from mash-in to pitching yeast). |
