This is the original recipe of Geo Washington. Brewed it the original way, which was basically a 2.5 hr cereal mash.

| Soak grains 1 hr @ 150 degrees. Boil for 1.5 hrs afterwards. Strain barley from boilpot prior to chilling. | ||||||||
| Boil: | 2.5hrs minutes | SG 1.029 | 6 gallons | |||||
| 1.93 lb. Molasses | ||||||||
| 4 gallons mash in - rest at 150 for 1 hr. Boil for 1.5 hrs. Add molasses at flame out. | ||||||||
| Hops: | 1.08 oz. Liberty (4% AA, 60 min.) | |||||||
| Yeast: | Fleishmans bread yeast - 2 pkgs, rehydrated in cooled wort. | |||||||
| Log: | Will open bucket ferment. transfer to 2nd after 7-14 days. | |||||||
| Carbonation: | 1.5 volumes | Corn Sugar: 1.28 oz. for 4 gallons @ 65°F | ||||||
