Water: Added 1tsp gypsum to sparge water.
Grain: 9 lb. American 2-row
.5 lb. American crystal 60L
.5 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
2 lb. Rye (raw)
Mash: 70% efficiency
Mashed in 3gal at 177deg to get 156deg mash.held for 60min.
Took 1/2 of the mash and brought to boil (sort of a single decoction)
Boiled for 15min,added back to main mash to bring to strike temp.
Boil: 105 minutes SG 1.044 7 gallons
Added 1tsp irish moss wit first addition of hops.
Hops: 1.5 oz. Perle (8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 1056 using starter method on back of package.
