Thought we would try a different take on Halloween Beers

Beer: Candy Bar Porter Style: Sweet Stout
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
149 HCU (~46 SRM)
Bitterness: 8 IBU
OG: 1.045 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 3.2% v/v (2.5% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. British chocolate
Steep: Steeped crushed grains in 1 quart of water at 170° for 20 minutes
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.113 2 gallons
3.3 lb. Dark malt extract
2 lb. Dark dry malt extract
Added 1/2 cup of sweet ground chocolate at the start of the 60 minute boil.
with 15 minutes left added the Irish moss
with 5 minutes left added 8 oz of Lactose
Hops: .5 oz. Cascade (7.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Muntons Premium Gold bloomed in a cup of water before adding
Carbonation: 5.oz of priming sugar
1oz Chocolate flavoring (found in candy making supplies)and 1/2 oz of Marshmallow flavoring added at this stage
Tasting: Beautiful color, strong chocolate smell. Looking forward to tasting this one.
