Gina's Blue Wheat

My second foray into beermaking. It came out great. Crisp, of medium body, and refreshing. Perfect Indian Summer brew!

Beer: Gina's Blue Wheat Style: American Wheat
Type: Extract Size: 2.5 gallons
Color:
12 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 7 IBU
OG: 1.066 FG: 1.003
Alcohol: 8.1% v/v (6.3% w/w)
Water: Charcoal filtered Philly water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.131 1.25 gallons
3.3 lb. Wheat extract
1 lb. Honey
Hops: .5 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: Nottingham ale yeast
Log: Brewed 08/26/01,racked w/ 1.5 oz. of blueberry extract 09/01/01, bottled 09/13/01.
Tasting: I was very pleasantly suprised. The gentle wheat flavor was complimented with a fruity aftertaste that most could not nail down as blueberry unless previously aware of what I was doing. This will put you on your derrier before you know it due to it's alchohol content, beware!
