Cascade Pale Ale

Good tasting thrist quencher.You swill drinking friends will like it.

Beer: Cascade Pale Ale Style: American Pale Ale
Type: Partial mash Size: 5.25 gallons
Color:
8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 29 IBU
OG: 1.049 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: Tap water filtered by an in line PUR filter.
Grain: 5.0 lb. British pale
1.0 lb. American crystal 10L
Mash: 60% efficiency
Mash in @ 154° 2 gal of water for 70 min.Mash out 175° 10 min. Sparge 2 gal. to get 3 gal. for boil.

Boil: 65 minutes SG 1.041 6.25 gallons
3.0 lb. Light dry malt extract Munton's
Add 3 1/2 gal. of water and 3lbs of DME to boil. 1 tesp of Irish Moss last 15 min and 1 tesp of Yeast nutrient last 10 min.
Hops: 1.0 oz. Cascade (5.3% AA, 65 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (5.3% AA, 15 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (5.3% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: two packets of Saf-ale S-04
Log: Ferment at 68° for 1 week primary,two weeks secondary. Rack and bottle or keg.
Carbonation: Carbonate with 5oz. cane sugar (white).
Tasting: Easy drinking and good tasting brew. This one everybody likes!!
