This is a tweaking of an award winning (1st Place, AHA Nationals)recipe found in "Homebrewing for Dummies".

Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.053 FG: 1.009
Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.4% w/w)
Grain: 8. lb. American 2-row
.5 lb. German Munich
.5 lb. Rice (raw)
Mash: 79% efficiency
Mash at 156° for 90 minutes.
Sparge at 172°.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.044 6 gallons
Hops: .20 oz. Target (10% AA, 60 min.)
.20 oz. Target (10% AA, 45 min.)
.4 oz. Challenger (7% AA, 30 min.)
.4 oz. Challenger (7% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs American Lager
Log: Fermentation:

Primary: 4 weeks at 70°
Secondary: 3 weeks at 45°

Well worth the wait.
Tasting: The boys took this one along on the canoe/fishing trip this spring and said it was the best I'd every brewed.
