Kathy's Vanilla Cream

I was looking for a nice Vanilla Cream beer with a thick mouthfeel.
This was it!!
The Vanilla is only there if you think about it and rounds
out the flavor very nicely

Beer: Kathy's Vanilla Cream Style: Cream Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
32 HCU (~16 SRM)
Bitterness: 12 IBU
OG: 1.054 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Water: Milwaukee city water.......Pretty good... and hard
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 120L
1 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: Steep the grains at 155° for 20 minutes.

After 4 days in Primary rack to secondary along with
4 whole vanilla beans broken and steeped at 190° in 2 cups of
water for 20 minutes
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.054 5 gallons
6.6 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb Lactose powder for sweetness and creaminess.
Hops: .5 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 1056 But any generic light ale yeast would do.
Log: 4 days primary
10 day secondary
65° F
Carbonation: 1 cup DME boiled
Tasting: After 2 weeks was a bit green. After 6 weeks was great!!! Worth the Wait.
