Casade Bitter

Philadelphia Tap water run through a PUR-FILTER.

Type: All grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
38 HCU (~18 SRM)
Bitterness: 24 IBU
OG: 1.058 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 5.4% v/v (4.2% w/w)
Grain: 7 lb. British pale
2 lb. German Vienna
1 lb. German Munich
1 lb. American crystal 60L
4 oz. British chocolate
Mash: 65% efficiency
Mash temp @155° for 75 min. Collect enough wort to suite your batch.
Boil: 85 minutes SG 1.042 7.5 gallons
1 lb. Cane sugar
1 teaspoon Irish moss at 10 min. mark. 1 teaspoon Yeast nutrient at 10 min. mark.
Hops: .5 oz. Galena (11.3% AA, 75 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: WLP 002 English ale. Made a starter and built it up twice.
Log: 4/17/04 Ferment at 68° for three weeks. Rack into secondary if you like, after primary is at a good F.G.
Carbonation: 5 oz. of Brown sugar. Bottle or Keg, let sit 2 weeks then drink up.
Tasting: Will UP-Date!
