Moktoberfest 2001

This beer is being brewed for the 5th annual Mocktoberfest.

Beer: Moktoberfest 2001 Style: American Amber Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
20 HCU (~12 SRM)
Bitterness: 23 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Water: I use 5.5 gal distilled water for the boil and 1 gal bottled water for
cooling.
Grain: .5 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
2 oz. American black patent
Steep: I steeped the carapils and black patent from 120°F to 153°F and held
there for 15 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.050 5.5 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
I added Irish Moss and Yeast nutrient at 45 minutes.
Hops: .75 oz. Hallertauer (4.3% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer (4.3% AA, 45 min.)
.25 oz. Hallertauer (3.5% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (4.9% AA, 10 min.)
Yeast: White Labs WLP005 British Ale Yeast
Carbonation: Carbonated via CO2 injection.
