Chocolate Dream

A sweet milk stout with that hint of chocolate.

Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
178 HCU
Bitterness: 20 IBU
OG: 1.044 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 3.8% v/v (3.0% w/w)
Grain: 6 lb. Belgian pale
8 oz. Belgian Special B
8 oz. Belgian chocolate
8 oz. British black patent
8 oz. Roasted barley
8 oz. Raw wheat
Mash: 75% efficiency
Mash at 125°F for 30min. Then 155°F for 60min. Finish at
170°F for 15min.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.044 5 gallons
15 min remaining: 1tsp Irish Moss
5 min remaining: 1/2 cup of Lactose
Hops: 1 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast #1084 Irish Ale
Log: Primary Fermentation: ~5 Days at 65°F
Secondary Fermentation: ~10 Days at 65°F
Add .75lb of Lactose,
And .25lb of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup at bottling
Carbonation: 6 oz DME Amber
