91 HCU (~33 SRM)
Bitterness: 48 IBU
OG: 1.072 FG: 1.023
Alcohol: 6.3% v/v (5.0% w/w)
Water: boil 2 gallons of spring water as make-up water, use the other 3 for the beer.
Grain: 1 lb. 0 oz. Belgian Special B
4 oz. Roasted barley
2 lb. 0 oz. Flaked oats
Steep: Steep @ 155° for 50 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.120 3 gallons
7 lb. Amber malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
8 oz. Maple syrup
added a Whirlfloc - T tablet last 15 minutes to clarify
Hops: 4 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: White Labs Irish Ale Yeast
Carbonation: use 1cup maple syrup at bottling.
