Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
184 HCU
Bitterness: 62 IBU
OG: 1.058 FG: 1.030
Alcohol: 3.6% v/v (2.8% w/w)
Grain: .5 lb. American 6-row
.75 lb. Belgian biscuit
.25 lb. American crystal 60L
.25 lb. American crystal 120L
1.25 lb. American chocolate
.25 lb. American black patent
.33 lb. Roasted barley
.5 lb. Rolled oats
Steep: Bring the water temp up to 170 Degrees
Turn off heat and cover the whole brewpot with a towel to trap as much heat as possible.
Let rest for 45 minutes.
Remove Grains
Boil: 60 mins minutes SG 1.083 3.5 gallons
5 lb. Amber dry malt extract
Use Irish Moss at the very beginning of the boil!

This gives the protiens time to fully hydrate.
Hops: 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
3 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Irish Stout Yeast

If you make a starter - do so 12 hours prior.
Carbonation: Into the bottles with 3/4 cup of corn sugar or dry malt extract.
