Slow Elk Oatmeal Stout Clone

This recipe is nearly the exact same as that posted on BYO with a minor change. The flaked oats were replaced with "Naked oats". The clone posted on BYO was from the brewer himself so hopefully this clone will turn out as well.

Bitterness: 19 IBU
OG: 1.054 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: None, Philadelphia city water
Grain: 6.87 lb. British pale
1.37 lb. British crystal 70-80L
5.5 oz. British chocolate
3.7 oz. British black patent
5.5 oz. Naked oats
Mash: 80% efficiency
single decoction mash was performed
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.045 6 gallons
none
Hops: 0.91 oz. Kent Goldings (6% AA, 90 min.)
Yeast: British ale yeast in one batch, combination of brit and american in the other batch.
Carbonation: 3.0 volumes Corn Sugar: 5.99 oz. for 5 gallons @ 76°F
Tasting: Tasted at bottling 8/26/05 and results are great. After carbonation, wow, what a tasty brew. The only change for next time will be to double the batch size.
