Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
124 HCU (~41 SRM)
Bitterness: 30 IBU
OG: 1.095 FG: 1.025
Alcohol: 9.0% v/v (7.0% w/w)
Grain: 4 oz. American black patent
14 oz. British chocolate
Steep: The grains will be steeped for 25 minutes in a gradient of temperatures ranging from approximately 70 to 170°F.
Boil: 180 minutes SG 1.135 3.5 gallons
6.6 lb. Light malt extract
4 lb. Light dry malt extract
.75 lb. Brown sugar
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 180 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 180 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 180 min.)
Yeast: Danstar Windsor, cultured in a small amount of dark malt extract.
Log: To be brewed 11/28/03. 8 cups of strong coffee will be added to the boil after 150 minutes, and 4 cups will be added to the beer upon bottling.
Carbonation: 1.8 volumes Cane Sugar: 2.22 oz. for 4.5 gallons @ 70°F
