This is an enjoyable, yet simple stout. I was surprised by how crisp it was.

Color:
169 HCU
Bitterness: 33 IBU
OG: 1.060 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 6.2% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Grain: 16 lb. American 2-row
2 lb. American crystal 40L
3 lb. Roasted barley
Mash: 77% efficiency
Mash for about one hour at 152 degrees
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.052 11 gallons
Hops: 3 oz. Cascade (6.7% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (6.7% AA, 3 min.)
Yeast: Make a 1/2 liter (I make a starter in a clear 1 liter wine bottle) yeast starter several days ahead. Use Wyeast london ale yeast.
Log: Brewed in 11/03. Fermented at 68 degrees for two weeks, racked and then fermented for another two weeks @ 68 degrees.
