Iowa Dry Winter Stout #16

Tried to do an impression of Beamish Irish Stout for the cold Iowa winter.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
133 HCU (~43 SRM)
Bitterness: 20 IBU
OG: 1.049 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Grain: 6 oz. British black patent
1 lb. Roasted barley
8 oz. Flaked wheat
Steep: Steep grains for 1 hour at 150° . Make sure that strike water is at least 160° before grains go into the water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.108 2.5 gallons
5 lb. Light dry malt extract
8 oz. Lyle's Invert Sugar
Add Irish Moss with the Goldings hops at 45 minutes
Hops: 1 oz. Northdown (9.4% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Styrian Goldings (5.5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs WLP004 Irish Ale
Carbonation: 5 oz primimg sugar at botteling
