Kelt Stout

A "mild" stout, much like Murphy's. Easy drinking.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
103 HCU (~36 SRM)
Bitterness: 20 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.8% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Grain: 4 oz. British crystal 50-60L
8 oz. British chocolate
7 oz. Roasted barley
Steep: Steeped grains @ 150 Deg. F for 20 minutes in 1 1/2 gal of water. Sparge with 1/2 gal of 150 Deg water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.137 2 gallons
3 lb. 4 oz. Light malt extract
2 lb. Extra Light dry malt extract
8 oz. Brown sugar
Hops: 1 oz. British Target (11% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: EasYeast Irish Ale
Log: Brewed 11/27/01, fermented at 60-65 Deg F. Racked 12/02/01, bottled 12/06/01.
Carbonation: Primed w/ 1/2 cup M&F Amber DME and 1/2 cup Brown Sugar.
Tasting: Dry, hops are right up front in the flavor, it will smooth out over the next few weeks.
