Reunion Stout

Having worked together for years (and having shared a few beers during
this time!) before transferring to new locatins, my TJ coworkers
decided to get together over a few coldies to stir the brewpot!

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 10 gallons
Color:
168 HCU
Bitterness: 37 IBU
OG: 1.047 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.5% v/v (3.6% w/w)
Water: distilled water
Grain: 3 lb. American crystal 20L
1 lb. American chocolate
1.5 lb. Roasted barley
Steep: Steep grains in cold water; slowly heat to 77°C; remove grains and
sparge with 77°C water; top up to 10 gal. and start boil.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.047 10 gallons
6 lb. Dark malt extract
4 lb. Dark dry malt extract
Irish moss 15 minute boil
Hops: 20.3g Nugget (12.2% AA, 60 min.)
38.9g Willamette (4.6% AA, 60 min.)
49.3g Kent Goldings (4.6% AA, 15 min.)
.5g Mt. Hood (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs WLP 004 Irish ale: 1 liter starter plus repitched slurry
from previous batch
