simple stout

This was my first attempt at brewing my own recipe. Simple, few ingredients.

Beer: simple stout Style: stout
Type: Extract Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
135 HCU (~43 SRM)
Bitterness: 19 IBU
OG: 1.042 FG: 1.000
Alcohol: 5.5% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: Culligan home delivery drinking water. No additives.
Grain: 1 lb. Roasted barley
Steep: Put bag of grain in cold water, brought temp to 165 and held for 30 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.117 2 gallons
6 lb. Dark malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Bullion (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Coopers Dry Ale Yeast. Very quick to blow top off airlock.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup corn sugar
Tasting: Just had to crack one open after one week in bottle. Very nice! Medium head, good body. Lets see what another week or two brings...
