Color:
78 HCU (~30 SRM)
Bitterness: 58 IBU
OG: 1.054 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 5.4% v/v (4.2% w/w)
Water: Add a teaspoon or so of gypsum if you like.
Grain: 1 lb. American Crystal 40L
0.25 lb. American Chocolate
0.25 lb. American Black patent
1 lb. Rauchmalt
1 lb. British Pale
Mash: 40% efficiency
Mash grains for 45-60 minutes @ 155° F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.045 6 gallons
6 lb. Light LME
Add 1 teaspoon of flaked Irish Moss the last 15 minutes of the boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast #1968 London ESB or WLP005 British Ale or WLP002 English Ale
Carbonation: Bottle using corn sugar, DME or force carbonate in a keg.
