black river maple porter

this is going to be my late fall brew. i expect great results from this beer!!!

Beer: black river maple porter Style: Robust Porter
Type: Partial mash Size: 5 gallons
Color:
95 HCU (~34 SRM)
Bitterness: 30 IBU
OG: 1.059 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 5.6% v/v (4.4% w/w)
Grain: 8 oz. American crystal 40L
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
8 oz. American chocolate
8 oz. American black patent
Mash: 40% efficiency
15 minute protein rest at 120. 45 minutes at 155-160. i use a double boiler with a grain bag.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.059 5 gallons
4.5 lb. Light dry malt extract
2.3 lb. Maple syrup
1 tsp irish moss. add maple syrup at flame out.
Hops: 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: WLP023 burton ale yeast
Log: 1-2-3 method. im using raw pure maple syrup from a buddy (steve) across the black river. this syrup is amazing. tastes way different than stores crap syrup.
Carbonation: 3/4 cups corn sugar
