Smokey the Porter 3

This is a unique smoked porter, very dark, with almost a charcoal like finish. This beer is NOT for everyone, so you better be a dark beer lover!

Grain: 8 oz. American crystal 60L
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
12 oz. American chocolate
6 oz. American black patent
2 lb. 4 oz. Hugh Baird Smoked Peat
Steep: Steep grains until boil.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.110 3.0 gallons
7 lb. Amber malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Cluster (7% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cluster (7% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (4.5% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: WLP 002 English Ale

Actual ABV 6.2%
Carbonation: 5 oz priming sugar.
Tasting: I brew this beer about every other year, as my cravings grow. You must be in the proper mood to enjoy a smoked porter, but this is a great one if you're into that style.
