Hoges Porter June 22

A part mash porter that uses a concentrated boil, suitable for stove top boiling. Can be made with a 15 litre cooler as a mash tun, and a 20 litre pot as brewpot.

Alcohol: 6.8% v/v (5.3% w/w)
Grain: 3kg British pale
500g British Munich
500g American crystal 10L
500g British chocolate
Mash: 70% efficiency
Mash grain at 69°C for 60 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.089 17 liters
1kg Light dry malt extract
500g Wheat extract
1 tspn Irish Moss @ 15 minutes.
Add malt extract to boil.
Hops: 25g Pride of Ringwood (10% AA, 60 min.)
25g Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
25g Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Safale S-04
Log: Brewed 22 June 2003.
Carbonation: Force carbonate to 100kPa.
