Bitterness: 30 IBU
OG: 1.049 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: 6 Gal water to start with. Loss of 1qt to steep. Added 2qt of liquid
malt. 5.5gal at end of boil. Added 1gal water at end of boil to top
up and aid cooling.
Grain: .25 lb. American crystal 60L
.5 lb. Dextrine malt (Caramel Pils)
.5 lb. American chocolate
2 oz. American black patent
.5 lb. Flaked barley
Steep: Steeped graing in bag. Started at 150°F and ended at 170°F. Steeped
for 1hr.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.049 6 gallons
6 lb. Amber malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Added Irish Moss and YEast Neutrient at 15 min left of boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Saaz (5.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (5.6% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (5.5% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: Used a 1qt starter of WLP005 British Ale Yeast
