Bitterness: 47 IBU
OG: 1.093 FG: 1.017
Alcohol: 9.8% v/v (7.7% w/w)
Water: Christchurch, New Zealand tap water
Grain: 250g British crystal 50-60L
250g British chocolate
100g British black patent
Steep: bring up to and hold at 67°
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.151 8 liters
3kg Light malt extract
400g Brown sugar
200g Molasses
Hops: 60g Fuggles (6% AA, 60 min.)
30g Fuggles (6% AA, 45 min.)
30g Fuggles (6% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: English Ale Yeast
Log: primary ferment for 10days
Secondary ferment for 14days
Tasting: An awesome beer with a caramel nutty maltiness and a nice finish.
