Old Yeller

Friends tasted my batches and gave up brewing and gave me their OLD cans of malt extract. Over the last few months ended up with 4 cans. Will use these dogs to create a nasty and almost free OLD YELLER barly wine. It will be weird swill, but who cares.

Type: Extract Size: 5 gallons
Color:
82 HCU (~31 SRM)
Bitterness: 98 IBU
OG: 1.101 FG: 1.028
Alcohol: 9.4% v/v (7.4% w/w)
Water: boil
Grain: 1 lb. British crystal 50-60L
Steep: in at 120F and out at 190 over a 30 minute ramp up
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.084 6 gallons
6.6 lb. Amber malt extract
6.6 lb. Dark malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. yakima magnum (16% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Coopers ales yeast started in 1-1/3 cup DME in 1.5L water
Afterwards...champagne yeast in secondary
Carbonation: 1.5 volumes Keg: 4.9 psi @ 50°F
