Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
50 HCU (~22 SRM)
Bitterness: 39 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 4.7% v/v (3.7% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. Crystal Malt (120L)
4 oz. Chocolate Malt
Steep: Steep grains for 30 minutes in 3 gallons of 160° F. water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.086 3 gallons
7 lb. John Bull Light Malt Extract
1/4 tsp Irish Moss (15 minutes)
1/4 tsp Yeast Nutrient (15 minutes)
Hops: 2 oz. Perle (6.6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.5% AA, 20 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: Edme Dry Ale Yeast rehdry. 15 minutes prior to pitching in 1 pint of
80° preboilied water.
Log: Dry hopped 1 oz. of Fuggle hops in seconday fermenter for 1 week.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup corn sugar.
Tasting: Next time I will use liquid yeast. Maybe Wyeast #1272 (American II)
or White Labs #WLP008 (East Coast Ale). Otherwise this is a great beer.
