Jess' Grabrewation Ale

Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.060 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 6.5% v/v (5.1% w/w)
Water: For the boil, I used one gallon of bottled "drinking" water, and one gallon of tap water. I later used a little over a quart of tap water to help rinse the extract buckets.

After the wort was added to the primary, I added two gallons of partially frozen distilled water, then added tap water to bring the volume up to approx 5.7 gallons.
Grain: 4 oz. German Munich
1 oz. American victory
6 oz. American crystal 60L
4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
1 oz. Belgian Special B
2 oz. American black patent
Steep: The grains were contained in two muslin bags, suspended in the water by a hook to keep them off the bottom of the kettle. These were added just after heat was added, and remained until the water was brought to 180°.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.149 2.3 gallons
3.3 lb. Light malt extract
3.3 lb. Amber malt extract
2 lb. Honey
Added a dash of Irish moss in the last 10 minutes of the boil, and added a dash of moss to the primary before adding the boiling wort.
Hops: 2 oz. Cluster (6.8% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cluster (6.8% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Nugget (14.2% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: California Ale V yeast (WLP051 [White Labs]); added at 75°.
