Bitterness: 49 IBU
OG: 1.066 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 6.7% v/v (5.3% w/w)
Water: Add a teaspoon or so of gypsum if you like.
Grain: 1.75 lb. American 2-row
0.75 lb. American Crystal 40L
0.25 lb. American Chocolate
Steep: Steep grains for the typical 45 minutes @ 155° F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.066 5 gallons
3 lb. Light LME
4 lb. Light DME
Add 1 teaspoon of flaked Irish Moss, 1/2 tsp Vanilla, 1/4 tsp Nutmeg, 1/4 tsp Ginger, 1/4 tsp Cinnamon, 1/4 tsp Anise, and 1 oz Orange Peel the last 15 minutes of the boil.
Hops: 1.5 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
0.5 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast #1056 American Ale
Carbonation: Bottle using corn sugar or force carbonate in a keg.
