A tried and refined recipie. A good, lightly hopped American brown

Bitterness: 21 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 4.5% v/v (3.5% w/w)
Grain: 18 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. Belgian aromatic
1 lb. American crystal 90L
1 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
.5 lb. German Caraffa chocolate
Mash: 70% efficiency
Start with 16 gal cold water.
Single step infusion. Heat 6 gal to 160, and mash in, stabelize at 155F
after conversion, dococt 1/3 of mash for 10 min,
Dump back into mash for mash out.
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.047 11.6 gallons
Hops: .65 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
.75 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 30 min.)
.75 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 10 min.)
1.25 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: WLP 1002 - English ale yeast.
