A hoppy version of an American Brown Ale. Brewing this up this weekend.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
75 HCU (~29 SRM)
Bitterness: 71 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.1% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Water: Burton Ale Sales
3 oz malto-dextrim to fill up that body
Irish Moss
Grain: 1 lb. British crystal 50-60L
.5 lb. British chocolate
Steep: Steep grains at 150 for 30 minutes in water treated with burton ale salts.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.042 6.5 gallons
3 lb. 3 oz. Amber malt extract
3 lb. Amber dry malt extract
Add Malto-dextrine along with malt extracts pre-boil
Boil Irish moss last 15 minutes
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: wyeast 1028 or 1335
