Alcohol: 4.7% v/v (3.7% w/w)
Water: Bottled water
Grain: 2 lb. British mild ale malt
4 oz. American victory
8 oz. American crystal 40L
4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
2 oz. British chocolate
Mash: 65% efficiency
Mash grain @ 153 °F. for 45 minutes. Sparge with 3 qts. 170 °F. water.


Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.088 2.5 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
Use 1 tsp. Irish Moss or 1 Whirlfloc tablet last 15 minutes.
Hops: 1.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: White Labs "Burton Ale Yeast" WLP 023.
Carbonation: Bottle with 5/8 cup DME or dextrose.
