Bitterness: 34 IBU
OG: 1.061 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 6.1% v/v (4.8% w/w)
Grain: .5 lb. American victory
.5 lb. American crystal 20L
.5 lb. American crystal 60L
.5 lb. Flaked oats
Steep: Steep grains in 3 Quarts of 155° water fro 60 mins
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.096 3.5 gallons
8 lb. Light malt extract
At 55 mins add Irish Moss and yeast nutrient
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (7.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (5.9% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (5.9% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: WLP530 Belgian Abbey Ale Yeast.
It is always hot below decks. Belgian Yeasts seem to handle the heat best. Gives a bit of a bannana smell.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup corn sugar
Tasting: Smooth but FULL taste. Great for a day and evening in port.
