Bada Bing

Bada Bing - American Pale Ale with a little cherry zing.

Beer: Bada Bing Style: American Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
10 HCU (~7 SRM)
Bitterness: 32 IBU
OG: 1.041 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.0% v/v (3.2% w/w)
Water: Bottled spring water from the local supermarket.
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 20L
1 lb. Flaked barley
Steep: Steep crystal and flaked barley in 2.5 US Gallons water for 30 min between 130-170°F. Remove before boil.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.083 2.5 gallons
4 lb. Light dry malt extract
Irish moss last 15 minutes of boil.
Hops: 1.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs WLP001-California Ale
Log: Primary ferment for 1 week. Place 5 lbs diced, pasteurized black cherries in secondary and rack beer on top. Ferment for another week. Rack to tertiary and clear for at least a week. Bottle and condition for 1-2 weeks.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup corn sugar boiled in 1 pt water.
Tasting: Good stuff. Enough said.
