Bitterness: 51 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Water: none needed here in Abita Springs La.
Grain: 8.0 lb. American 2-row
1.0 lb. Flaked corn
Mash: 78% efficiency
mash at 153-160 for one hr.
sparge using the batch sparging method
I found that it increased my efficiency
by 7.5%
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.035 7.5 gallons
add Wirlfloc (one tablet) with final hopping
Hops: 1.0 oz. Cascade (5.7% AA, 60 min.)
1.0 oz. Cascade (5.7% AA, 30 min.)
1.0 oz. Cascade (5.7% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: I used one QT.of home grown California Ale #wl-poo1
This was farmed from American Standard #1 and grown
using Alexanders D.M.E
Log: one week on primary kept around 66deg.
one week on secondary kept around 65.deg.
add about 1/4 cup fresh yeast at bottling time.
and condition for about 2 weeks
Carbonation: 2.8 volumes Corn Sugar: 5.17 oz. for 5.0 gallons @ 67°F
