5 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 30 IBU
OG: 1.038 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 3.6% v/v (2.9% w/w)
Grain: 2 lb. American 2-row
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 60% efficiency
Add grains to 1.5 gal. water at 150°. Sparge with 1 gal water at 170°.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.084 2.5 gallons
3 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Add 1 tsp. Irish Moss at 45 minutes.
Hops: 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs WLP051 California V Ale yeast.
Log: Primary fermentation 1 week in plastic and rack to glass carboy for 2 weeks until gravity reaches 1.010.
Carbonation: Prime bottles with corn sugar.
