A Double IPA inspired by the folks at Kern River and Firestone Walker.

Alcohol: 8.1% v/v (6.3% w/w)
Water: Filtered drinking water from home-delivery service.
Grain: 13.75 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
1 lb. American crystal 40L
Mash: 84% efficiency
Strike water temp: 163*F. Mash temp: 152.3*F for 60 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.057 8.5 gallons
Hops: .5 oz. Warrior (16% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Simcoe (13% AA, 15 min.)
2 oz. Amarillo (9% AA, 10 min.)
3 oz. Citra (11% AA, 10 min.)
2 oz. Amarillo (9% AA, 0 min.)
2 oz. Citra (11% AA, 0 min.)
Yeast: White Labs California Ale V, 2 room temperature vials pitched into 67*F wort.
Log: Chiller clogged with leaf hops. Chilled wort in bathtub with 60 lbs ice in about 30 minutes.
