Liquid Cascades IPA

When fresh hops are available, do dry hopping as well! At least 2oz of fresh hops.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
75 HCU (~29 SRM)
Bitterness: 75 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 4.6% v/v (3.6% w/w)
Grain: .25 lb. American 6-row
.75 lb. American Munich
.5 lb. American crystal 40L
.5 lb. American crystal 60L
1 lb. American crystal 120L
.25 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
.25 lb. Roasted barley
Steep: Bring water to 170 degrees with grains steeping.
Turn off heat.
Cover the brewpot with a towel to trap in heat and let rest for 45mins.
Remove grains.
Boil: 60min minutes SG 1.073 3.5 gallons
5 lb. Amber malt extract
Use irish moss at the Very Beginning of the boil.

This will give the protiens time to fully hydrate.
This means better hot break and longer lasting, cleaner tasting beer.
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 45 min.)
2 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
2 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Whitelabs American Ale Yeast
Log: Ferment in primary for 5 days.
Ferment in secondary until all yeast falls out of solution (3 weeks to two months)
Carbonation: Bottle with 3/4 cups of DME or Corn sugar
