Kingston Pale Ale

A smooth tasting beer well liked by friends and brewmasters. It's one of those beers that does not fall into any one type of judging styles, due to the munich malt. I keged the first batch and have bottled every since. It will go out for sale/parties soon it's that good - look out for the Reggae label.

Type: All grain Size: 4.8 gallons
Color:
37 HCU (~18 SRM)
Bitterness: 87 IBU
OG: 1.074 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 7.8% v/v (6.1% w/w)
Water: City of Roseville water( we have good water) or Spring water
Grain: 15 lb. 4 oz. American Munich
4 oz. American Honey Malt
1 lb. American crystal 20L
Mash: 65% efficiency
It's good at 150F for 90min, The best is 155F at 60min - I do this now
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.059 6 gallons
Irish Moss with 15min left in boil.
Hops: 2.5 oz. Hallertauer (4.2% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Hallertauer (4.2% AA, 30 min.)
3 oz. Brambling Cross (6.2% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs California ale V strain
Log: Primary Ferment @ 69F 7days, Secondary 9 days, I counter fill Bottles w/CO2 Let sit 2-6 months cool
Carbonation: If I keg , 23lbs for three days and let sit 2 weeks at least
Tasting: Great German taste in a Pale Ale. Good aromas from Bramblings and Hallertau not bitter at all, great sweetness a little dark for a Pale Ale-- Crystal 10L will lighten it up a bit--
