Tenderfoot IPA

This recipe was formulated to be my first entry into local
homebrew competition. Did I mention this is my first solo
homebrew? Do I really know what I'm doing when coming up with this
recipe? Let's put it this way, the only thing I hope to win is
learning experience.

Beer: Tenderfoot IPA Style: India Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
16 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 59 IBU
OG: 1.064 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 6.4% v/v (5.0% w/w)
Water: 1 tsp Gypsum
Grain: .5 lb. American crystal 40L
.5 lb. American crystal 20L
Steep: Place the Crystal Malt into a steep bag, and boil
in pre-wort water for 30 min. Remove bag and continue
with adding in regular LME.
Boil: minutes SG 1.106 3 gallons
8.25 lb. Light malt extract
1 tsp Irish Moss (15 minutes)
Hops: 2 oz. Galena (11.8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 1056
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Corn Sugar: 2.88 oz. for 4.9 gallons @ 65°F
