Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
21 HCU (~12 SRM)
Bitterness: 52 IBU
OG: 1.066 FG: 1.150
Alcohol: -
Grain: 1 lb. British crystal 50-60L
Steep: used a nylon bag to steep grains at 145°F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.110 3 gallons
7 lb. Light dry malt extract
added 2 tsp of irish moss for last 15 minutes of the boil
Hops: 1 oz. Target (8.8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggle (5.0% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. cascade (5.8% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (6.2% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (6.2% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: used Wyeast british ale III w/ a 2 quart starter
Log: racked off to secondary after one week, kept in the secondary for almost a month at 64°F
Carbonation: kegged and dry hopped w/ two 0.5 East Kent Goldings plugs (in a muslin bag), left plugs in for 2 weeks.
Tasting: way over the top on hop flavor, hopefully the flavor will mellow with time.
next time only dry hop with one plug.
