Boomer Sooner 2000 IPA

This was a combo of a couple of Liberty Clones I had found at cat's meow.
I brewed it during the first Sooner football game of the new millenium thus the name.

Most of the recipe was taken from Stephen Tinsley's "Liberty Ale Success" HBD Issue # 1570, 11/4/94. I changed the yeast he used as well as used cascade only instead of his combo of fuggles and cascade.

15 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 39 IBU
OG: 1.063 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 6.6% v/v (5.2% w/w)
Grain: 0.5 lb. American Munich
0.5 lb. American crystal 40L
0.5 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: 150 F for 30 minutes, raise temp to 158 for 15 minutes, raise to 168 briefly.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.079 4 gallons
8 lb. Light malt extract
Hops: 1.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 10 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 0 min.)
1.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Used a test tube of the pitchable White Labs: California Ale Yeast
Carbonation: 3/4 cup corn sugar at bottling
