2011 Hop Harvest Ale

My first hop harvest clocked in at a staggering 6 oz from my four towering bines. All of them are kettle-bound for this IPA recipe!

Type: All grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
12 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 75 IBU
OG: 1.064 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 6.7% v/v (5.2% w/w)
Water: RO water, gypsum added to reach pH of ~5.4.
Grain: 10 lb. American 2-row
10 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
10 oz. British crystal 70-80L
Mash: 85% efficiency
Single infusion mash, 152*F for 60 minutes. No mashout. Fly sparge with 180*F water for 60 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.047 7.5 gallons
Whirfloc added at 10 minutes. Wyeast yeast nutrient added at 5 minutes.
Hops: 1.5 oz. Homegrown Nugget (10% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Homegrown Centennial (8% AA, 10 min.)
.88 oz. Homegrown Chinook (10% AA, 10 min.)
2 oz. Homegrown Columbus (11% AA, 5 min.)
.6 oz. Homegrown Columbus (11% AA, 1 min.)
Yeast: Washed US05 yeast. 1.5 liter starter.
Log: Brew date: 1/5/12
Carbonation: 30 PSI for 48 hrs, then drop to serving pressure (12 PSI).
