ApriCat Wheat II

This is a nice full mouthfeel apricot wheat, it is not overly sweet or syrupy. It has a very nice orange glow, and you can taste the subtleness of the apricot after each swallow.

Bitterness: 21 IBU
OG: 1.073 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 7.1% v/v (5.6% w/w)
Grain: 1.0 lb. Flaked wheat
Steep: Steep grains until boil
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.104 3.5 gallons
7.0 lb. Light dry malt extract(Wheat)
1.0 lb. Wheat extract
8.0 oz. Light dry malt extract
Take note that the 7.0 lbs of light malt extract is really wheat malt extract, which isn't a choice with this software.
Hops: 1.0 oz. Hallertauer (4.5% AA, 60 min.)
1.0 oz. Hallertauer (4.4% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs Liquid American HefeWeizen, Number #WLP320.
At the same time I added the yeast, I added 4.0 lbs of apricot filling, puree, that I bought at my local bakery. They had it with large chunks of apricot in it, within an apricot gel base.

Bottled 5/13/03
Actual OG was 1.066 and finished at 1.018.
Alcohol by Volume of 6.3%.
Carbonation: 5.0 oz. of priming sugar
Tasting: A very nice grasscutting beer, with a nice apricot mouthfeel. But don't forget that it is about 6.3% potent.
