Bitterness: 12 IBU
OG: 1.046 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.7% v/v (3.7% w/w)
Grain: 8 oz. German Carahell
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: Steep at 155° for 30 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.093 2.5 gallons
6 lb. Wheat extract
Hops: 1 oz. Hallertauer (2.8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Hallertauer (aroma)
Yeast: White labs American Hefeweizen yeast pitchable tube
no starter
Carbonation: 5oz corn sugar for priming.
2oz blueberry extract in priming mix
Tasting: Too dark for style.
Is actually a bit darker than an APA even.
Late extract addition next time.
Tastewise, pretty nice.
Nice weizen taste with just a TOUCH of blueberry.
No banana/clove from American Hefewiezen yeast.
Blueberry seems to knock down the sulphur inherent in style.
Maybe a bit more fruit extract next time.
