Basic Wheat Beer

Impress the skeptics among your friends by handing them this delicious
German-style wheat beer just weeks after buying your homebrew kit. A
simple all-extract approach keeps the frustration factor low your first
time out, and the the compliments you get will make you want to try
something a little more challenging the next time around.

Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.104 2.5 gallons
2 lb. 8 oz. Pale Malt Extract
4 lb. 8 oz. Wheat extract
METHOD:
Bring water to a boil. Add the extract and bring to a second boil. After 15 minutes, add the
hops and boil for 45 minutes longer. Transfer to fermenter when cool and add enough cold
water to make 5 gallons. Pitch the yeast. Primary-ferment at 68 to 72 degrees for 5 to 7 days.
Transfer to secondary fermenter. Secondary-ferment an additional 7 to 10 days at temperatures
between 68 and 72 degrees. Bottle, using corn sugar. Age in bottle for 10 to 14 days.
Hops: 1 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 45 min.)
